The Syracuse FOL study group read the NY Constitution last week, and were appalled and disgusted.  We decided to read some other states' constitutions to do a comparison: Texas, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont.   The Vermont Constitution came in as the shortest at 12 pages.  MA has amended its constitution 120 times!

NH and TX were smart enough to retain their rights if the Federal government oversteps its bounds.  TX also restricted their bill of rights from ever being revised or amended - VERY smart!!

This is a great tool in writing our own constitution - we've definitely found stuff we would pull from each.
